Israel approved the purchase of 25 Lockheed Martin F-35 stealth fighters, known to the Israeli Air Force as the “Adir”, from the United States in a deal worth about $3 billion.
This was announced on Sunday by the IDF and the Ministry of Defense.
Defense Minister Yoav Galant approved recommendations from IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi to acquire a new fleet that would bring Israel to a total strength of 75 fighters.
