Israel and the Palestinian National Authority have agreed to establish a mechanism to stop the violence. The meeting took place in Egypt and was also attended by US, Egyptian and Jordanian officials.
The meeting stressed the need to prevent the violation of the sanctity of the holy places in Jerusalem during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, Reuters reports. This year it will run from March 23 to April 21.
