The Israeli military launched strikes against the port and electricity infrastructure of Hodeidah, a city in western Yemen controlled by Houthi rebels, local Al Massirah TV channel reported.
The Israeli armed forces, for their part, announced that “dozens” of fighter jets participated in this operation.

“During a wide-scale air operation today, dozens of fighter jets attacked targets of military use by the Houthi terrorist regime in the Ras Isa and Hodeidah areas of Yemen,” said army spokesman Captain David Abraham.
The targets included a power plant and the port where oil is imported into Yemen.

The Houthis, allies of Iran and Hezbollah, had opened a front against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. On Saturday, they claimed responsibility for launching a missile targeting Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport.
