Government Israel agreed to purchase 25 units stealth fighter jet F-35 artificial United States of America (USA), which will be the third squadron for the advanced fighter jets. The purchase was arranged in a US$3 billion or equivalent to Rp.45.1 trillion deal between Tel Aviv and Washington.
As reported Reuters and Associated PressMonday (3/7/2023), the approval to buy F-35 stealth fighter jets was announced by the Israeli Ministry of Defense in a statement on Sunday (2/7) local time.
Mentioned by the Israeli Ministry of Defense that the 25 additional units will bring the number of F-35 fighter jets owned by the Israeli Air Force to a total of 75 units so far.

The Israeli Defense Ministry added that the deal to purchase the F-35 stealth fighter jets would be financed through a defense aid package that Israel received from US authorities.
The F-35 stealth fighter jet is called the most advanced fighter jet in the world, and Israel is the only country in the Middle East that flies it.
Israel is also known to be the first country outside the US to get the F-35 stealth fighter jet. In May 2018, the Commander of the Israeli Air Force claimed the country was the first to use the F-35 stealth fighter jet in combat.
The F-35 stealth fighter jet is also known as the Joint Strike Fighter, and in Israel it is referred to by its Hebrew name ‘Adir’.
