MMA – Israel Adesanya was arrested at New York airport on November 16, 2022. More fear than harm.
Israel Adesanya is the former UFC middleweight champion. Beaten by Alex Pereira at UFC 281, the Style maker face a new problem. The latter, in fact, was arrested at John Fitzgerald Kennedy airport. The reason ? The Nigerian came in possession of a brass knuckles.

Very quickly, the former champion’s team wanted to talk about the situation. So, on his account Chirping, Ariel Helwani shared a message from Adesanya’s manager Tim Simpson. In this message, Simpson reflects on the incident and says: ” Israel received a gift from a fan which he packed. When checked at the airport, he was quick to cooperate. He complied accordingly. Thanks to that, the matter was resolved and now he is returning home ».
A complicated week:
Between losing the belt to Alex Pereira and then getting arrested at the airport, Israel Adesanya has had a tough week. However, the Style maker intends to come back stronger than ever. An accomplished athlete, the Nigerian demanded a rematch against his Brazilian rival. No formalization has yet taken place.
