Ismail Jakobs released by the FSF to continue his injury treatment at club

The affair between the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) and the Galatasaray club concerning the injury of the Senegalese left back, Ismail Jakobs, has reached a favorable outcome. After playing Friday against Malawi (4-0), the defender was released by the FSF to continue his treatment.

“The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) informs the public that by mutual agreement with the Galatasaray Club and in the interest of the player Ismail Jakobs, it released the latter this Friday evening after his match against Malawi, so that he can undergo non-surgical treatment of his knee which requires a rest period of several days,” indicates a press release from the governing body of Senegalese football.

As a reminder, on Saturday October 5, the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) received notification from the Galatasaray club doctor indicating that player Ismail Jakobs was injured and unavailable to join the Senegal national team. This information, accompanied by supporting MRIs, led the FSF to announce, in an effort to preserve the physical integrity of the player, “the player’s package” on its social networks.

To the great surprise of the FSF, Ismail Jakobs was fielded by his club, Galatasaray, during their championship match on Sunday October 6, where he played the entire match.

Faced with this situation, the Senegalese Football Federation demanded immediate release of the player so that he can honor his call-up to the national team, in accordance with the regulations in force.

Not directly involved in this situation, Ismail Jakobs left Istanbul after his match and joined the Senegalese den.

The Jaraaf player Abdou Aziz Ndiaye who was called as reinforcement “will remain” within the group despite the presence of the player Ismail Jakobs, the FSF decided.
