Cauldron boiling in the Arab world after yesterday’s assassination of the leader of Hamas, Ismail Hamiya, by Israel, in Iran, with many demonstrations in its countries Middle East but also Muslim countries of northern Africa such as Morocco and Tunisia. The funeral of the Hamas leader has turned into a large march in favor of Palestine and the Palestinian people, with many of the mourners gathered at the University of Tehran holding placards with Ismail Hamiya’s portrait and Palestinian flags.
The funeral of Ismail Haniya began with the speaker of the Iranian parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and the Hamas official Khalil al-Haya to address a crowd of mourners in Tehran.
Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei prayed over Haniya’s body at Tehran University in the center of the city.
Iranian media reported that a funeral procession would then head towards Azadi Square in the west.
