Through the Al-Azaim foundation, the Islamic State shook the organization of the UEFA Champions League by spreading a photomontage in which a man appears with his face covered and a rifle in hand with the four headquarters behind him, that will host the quarterfinal return, in addition to the phrase, “Kill them all.”
The four stadiums that appear in the photomontage with effects that simulate an explosion are the Santiago Bernabéu, home of Real Madrid, Civitas Metropolitano, home of Atlético de Madrid, the Parque de los Príncipes, of PSG, and Emirates Stadium in London, home of Arsenal.
The alleged terrorist attack has set off alarms especially in the city of Madrid, where two Champions League matches will be played in 24 hours.
This Tuesday, April 9, two matches will be played in the first leg of the quarterfinals between Asenal and Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid against Manchester City. On Wednesday, April 10, the two remaining matches will be played: PSG vs. Barcelona, and Atlético de Madrid against Borussia Dortmund.
The alleged threat from the Islamic State went viral one day before the Champions League matches, but so far UEFA has not commented on the matter.
