  • Islamic State (IS) militants have attacked Taliban forces in the northern Afghan province of Parwan, a Taliban spokesman was quoted as saying by the DPA.

A spokesman, Bilal Karimi, bombed a Taliban car in the provincial capital, Charikar. Five members of the Taliban security forces were “slightly injured” in the blast, Karimi said.

After the incident, Taliban special forces attacked an IDF hideout near the site of the blast. It was destroyed and two IDF fighters were arrested, the spokesman added.

A local Taliban official and two others were injured in an explosion in the eastern Afghan province of Kunar on Wednesday, the government’s Bakhtar news agency reported.

A roadside bomb has detonated a car belonging to the newly appointed Taliban director of mining and oil in the provincial capital of Assadabad, the agency said, citing a Taliban spokesman in the province, BTA notes.
