Berlin, Aug 24 (EUROPA PRESS) – The Islamic State terrorist group has claimed responsibility for Friday’s attack in Solingen, Germany, in which three people died after being attacked by an individual who indiscriminately attacked concert-goers with a knife.
The attack was “in revenge for Muslims in Palestine and elsewhere,” according to the text, reported by German television ZDF.
There is no official confirmation of this, but the police have not ruled out the possibility that it was a terrorist attack.
German police have arrested two people in connection with a knife attack that took place last Friday in the city of Solingen, which has so far left three dead and eight injured. The attack has been claimed by the Islamic State.
The magazine Der Spiegel reported that the detainee is a Kyrgyz citizen living in a refugee shelter.
In addition, a 15-year-old boy was arrested for failing to report the perpetrator of the crime.
In fact, German public television ARD reported last night that police were conducting an operation in connection with the attack on a refugee home.
The area has been cordoned off by hundreds of officers and a special operations team is involved. “We have received information and are carrying out an action based on this information,” said a police spokesman.
