After a short spell in Brazilian football, where he played for Coritiba in the Brasileirão, the former Sporting striker has a new club: he is a reinforcement of the historic Mechelen, from Belgium.
At 35 years old, the Algerian goalscorer also returns to Belgian football, the last one he played in before heading to Brazil: in 22/23, he scored nine goals in 16 games with the Anderlecht shirt.
Remember that the first team that Slimani represented in Europe was Sporting. He played in Alvalade from 2013 to 2016, returning in the second half of 2021/22. With a lion on his chest he scored 61 goals in 123 games.
