Ishikawa Prefecture will begin accepting reservations for the “Hokuriku Ouenwari” program, which supports the tourism industry in Hokuriku, which was affected by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, from the 12th. It has already begun on the 8th in Toyama, Fukui, and Niigata prefectures, and all are on the same page. Ishikawa Prefecture opened an official website on the 11th, and registered accommodation facilities and travel agencies can apply. The discount is valid for stays from the 16th of this month to April 26th.
◆Some accommodation facilities in the Noto region also participate.
Application procedures for accommodation facilities and travel agencies will be lifted from the 12th. According to the prefecture, as of 7 p.m. on the 11th, there are 261 registered accommodation facilities. The target area is the entire prefecture, with 15 participating facilities from the Noto region, including Nanao City and Shiga Town. Reservations will begin sequentially for facilities that are ready. As of 7 p.m. on the same day, 57 travel agencies were registered within the prefecture and 18 other major companies nationwide.
The support discount offers a 50% discount on accommodation and travel products for one night or more to the four prefectures, and the maximum discount amount per person is 20,000 to 35,000 yen.
The prefecture also opened a call center for travelers on the 11th (telephone (0570) 099023). According to the person in charge, there have been inquiries regarding reservation methods, systems, and participating facilities. Governor Hase Hiroshi told reporters on the 11th, “We are finally at a stage where people can go to Ishikawa Prefecture, stay overnight, and spend money. The entire industry is working together to move forward with the Hokuriku Shinkansen’s reversal of the Noto Prefecture. I want to connect this to a form of support.”
The prefecture is also considering facilities that will accept secondary evacuees, and plans to make additional allocations depending on the number of evacuees. The second round will be carried out within the budget even after the long holidays in May. (Yutaka Tashima)
