The driver of a Peugeot 406, unreported stolen, refused to submit to a roadside check this Thursday, January 28 around 9 am in the town of Meylan, and fled. The gendarmes therefore pursued him and alerted their counterparts from the national police to try to intercept him.
The car found itself stuck in the flow of traffic at rue Pasteur in Grenoble and the gendarmes were able to position themselves in front of it and held the motorist up. But the latter restarted, forcing the soldiers to move away so as not to be struck, and headed for avenue Marcellin-Berthelot where he finally abandoned the vehicle at rue Ponsard to flee on foot. .

His passenger, who remained there, was questioned by the gendarmes who opened an investigation to identify the driver.
