The greatest damage was then observed in the parking lot of Quai Eugène-Charpenay in La Tronche, where eleven vehicles, a hedge and a lamppost were destroyed. The circumstances of this fire, for which the alert was given around 2:30 a.m., have also not been determined, but the disaster could have started from one or two cars, before spreading to others.
Later that night, several other vehicles burned, one being destroyed on Jacquier Road and three others being hit on Saint-Ferjus Road.
“It’s a disaster for people whose vehicles are destroyed,” said Bernard Dupré, assistant for works, travel and security at the town hall of La Tronche this Friday morning. “I met this morning a student and a person who had to go to work …”, lamented the elected official who evokes a series of fires of this type in the same sector for a few days.
