Ischgl works out a safety concept for the winter season

With a bundle of measures one wants to go far beyond the official requirements, it said on Friday by those responsible. In the coming winter season, all employees with a current negative Covid-19 test should arrive or be tested on site before the start of the season. During the season, the employees are then continuously offered test options.

Present corona test at check-in

Guests are also advised to show a negative test result that is not older than 72 hours when checking in at the hotels. “If you cannot present a test result, there is a voluntary test option in the local guest screening station,” explained Alexander von der Thannen, TVB chairman. In addition, a temperature measurement should be carried out at check-in and a short questionnaire answered. A separate contact tracing app is also to be developed.

Cabins, buses and ski depots are disinfected

In addition, they want to rely on the wastewater monitoring developed by the University of Innsbruck and the State of Tyrol. The cable car cabins are to be continuously disinfected using cold fogging devices. The same method is also used daily in the ski buses as well as in sports shops, ski depots, toilet facilities, elevator cabins and the first aid stations. All cable car employees have a daily fever before starting work.

Mouth and nose protection will be mandatory

Ischgl also relies on the wearing of mouth and nose protection. In addition to the cable cars, this should also be mandatory in critical areas. For this purpose, the Silvrettaseilbahn AG has purchased 600,000 multifunctional towels, which guests receive free of charge when they buy a ski pass. Groups of people standing close together should be avoided as far as possible in the waiting areas. “In order to ensure that a sufficient safety distance is maintained, we will – depending on the occupancy – also limit access to our restaurants on the mountain, which are currently being adapted with regard to the necessary hygiene protection measures,” announced Markus Walser, CEO of Silvrettaseilbahn AG , on.

Details on après-ski in autumn

Those responsible agreed that there would no longer be après-ski this winter in its current form. Details will only be available in autumn. In order to avoid large crowds, there will be no concert at the beginning of the season this year. Details on an alternative winter start will also be presented in autumn.
