He was referred to as the “Justin Bieber of the Nordics”. Isac Elliot (22) was one of Norway’s most popular pop stars 5-10 years ago. The Finnish artist played his very first full concert at Sentrum Scene in Oslo in 2013, just over a month before he turned 13.
Posting boastful pictures from Norway
The star status was a fact, and young girls flocked to stages around the country to experience the “New Way Home” singer live. In recent years, it has been quiet around the artist, especially internationally.
Dagbladet contacted the 22-year-old to get an update – what has he been up to lately?
The pandemic put a stop to it
When asked what he has done in recent years, Elliot can say that he has grown up. The last time he was a big part of the Norwegian media image, he was just a child.
– I have built my own house and moved out from my parents. I have grown up and have learned what it means to be an adult. It was both strange and difficult in the beginning, he says with a laugh.
– What are you doing now?
– Now I’m making my first album in Finnish. I was working internationally, but when the pandemic came I couldn’t travel around anymore. Then I started making music with my Finnish friends here in Helsinki, and I have been working on that for the past two years, he says and adds:
Thomas about the breakup, the millions and the bankruptcy
– I have also collaborated with several local artists and some Swedish artists. It seems that the Finnish people like this very much. I also prepare for the festival summer, spend time in training and then I try to eat healthy.

– Welsh fans
The 22-year-old adds that he feels he has found his footing as an artist now. Unlike when he was younger, he now has more ownership of the music, as he makes it himself together with his closest friends.
– I used to use songwriters all over the world, but it felt fake. Now it’s just me and the boys having fun together. I write most of it myself, and my friends produce – and sometimes we have a couple of beers too, he says with a twinkle in his eye.
Elliot does not hide that the Norwegian fans have meant a lot, but acknowledges that he has had no contact with them since he last visited the country.
The king pulled a Bieber joke
– Norway will always have a special place in my heart, I spent large parts of my childhood there. It’s still the most beautiful scenery I’ve seen, and the craziest fans. I might have to get a summer house there. As I said, I have music out, and bring music together with Swedish artists. I would have loved to get to know the Norwegian music industry better too, he says and adds in conclusion:
– If anyone has suggestions for Norwegians I should work with, feel free to send me a DM on Instagram.
