Isabelle Huppert reveals her guilty pleasure… and the guilty pleasure address where you can find it!

Revealed and adored by the French filmmaker Claude Chabrol with whom she filmed Violette Noziere (1978) (Best Actress Award), A woman’s affair (1998) et The Ceremony (1995, César for Best Actress), Isabelle Huppert is one of the most prolific actresses in French cinema. It is therefore as a true icon of the seventh art that she was elevated to the prestigious rank of jury member of the Venice Film Festival 2024, a festival of which she is a regular.

While we know the actress’s brilliant career like the back of our hand, we know a little less about her passion for gastronomy. In an interview with Voguethe 71-year-old celebrity revealed some of her favorite food spots. When asked: “A guilty pleasure address?”the main person concerned replied: “Popelini, rue Debelleyme, for cream puffs”.

Popelini: the French pastry shop dedicated entirely to cream puffs

Since 2011, the Popelini pastry shop has successfully revived this treasure of French pastry that has been forgotten in the world of delicacies: the chou! Under a frozen cape of colored fondant, the chou pastry, soft, airy and light, is wrapped in a cracker made from brown sugar and butter. Under this crunchiness, all the smoothness of a pastry cream and the tenderness of a dry pastry where a fruit preserve, nougatine or chocolate chips dance. Cabbage filled with a pastry cream flavored with rose water and enclosing a raspberry confit heart (Raspberry confit rose), a lemon cream “like a lemon tart”, infused with yellow and green lemon zest and whipped with butter (Yuzu Lemon), a cream flavored with homemade almond and hazelnut praline and enclosing a crunchy praline heart (Praline), or infused with roasted Iranian pistachio (Pistachio), these little treats are available individually at a price of €2.90.
