Alexander Isak scored goals against both Kosovo and Greece in the World Cup qualifiers in October, but in the club team Real Sociedad it has been harder for the Swedish national team striker this autumn. Ahead of tonight’s Europa League match away against Austrian Sturm Graz, Isak stood on just one goal after seven appearances.
After 68 minutes of play, at the score 0-0, Isak struck – with great help from the opposing goalkeeper. He then fired a loose shot to the left in the penalty area which Jörg Siebenhandl let in between the legs. A huge mistake that gave Real Sociedad three points when the match ended 0-1. Isak was substituted after 77 minutes.
The Spanish club is thus on five points after three matches in the Europa League group stage and is second in Group B behind Monaco on seven points.
