How to get iOS 17?
Back-up
It’s always a good idea to back up any smartphone, but during a major update, it becomes even more important in case something goes wrong, so make sure you back up all your precious photos, videos, and other files to iCloud or another storage service before setting off.
Clear space
Next step, you should have some space available to download the update. Typically, iOS updates can be up to 10GB in size, so, if you know you are about to run out of space, you may want to clear any unused apps or old files.
Phone charging
Your battery needs to be more than 50 percent charged to download iOS 17, and you need at least 20 percent to install it, so be prepared — it’s probably best to leave it plugged in throughout the installation process.
Connect to a Wi-Fi network
Given the volume of iOS updates, you’ll need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network, otherwise it could use up a lot of your data. Not only that, but Wi-Fi is faster.
Ineligible phones
There are iPhones that will not be eligible for the new operating system, iOS 17, including:
– iPhone X.
– iPhone 8.
– iPhone 8 Plus.
– iPhone 6.
– iPhone 7.
Although these iPhones will not receive the latest version of the operating system, Apple will continue to push out important security patches if necessary. However, the iPhones mentioned above will not gain any new capabilities and will continue to operate in their current state.
