Winter is back, warn Meteo Balkans.
The new week will begin with worsening weather and lowering daily temperatures. Rainfall is expected, and in the Fore-Balkans and mountainous regions – and snow. The weather is expected to improve on Thursday, but temperatures will be around the norm for February and will remain cold.
Weather on Monday
In the morning on Monday, fogs will form in places in the Upper Thracian lowlands and in the Danube plain.
The minimum temperatures will decrease and will be between 2 ° and 5 ° С, and it will remain cooler again in the mountainous regions and valleys of Western Bulgaria, Srednogorie and part of Northwestern Bulgaria – up to minus 2 ° С. We expect the warmest to be in Central Bulgaria and in the southwestern regions – up to 4-5 ° С.
On the first day of the new week the clouds before noon will be more often broken, and around noon over many areas it will decrease to sunny.
Weather forecast is expected in the afternoon. Then a new increase in cloudiness will start from the northwest and by the evening in many places in Western Bulgaria it will rain lightly, and over the extreme northwestern and central regions it is even possible to thunder. The wind in the country will be weak, and north of the Balkan Mountains to moderate from south-southwest and temperatures will rise, according to Meteo Balkans.
The maximum temperatures in the country will rise and will be between 15 ° and 21 ° С. The warmest will be in Central Bulgaria – up to 19-21 ° C, and the lowest will be in the Northwest and in the valleys of Western Bulgaria – up to 15-16 ° C.
Lower temperatures and more significant precipitation are expected on the night before Tuesday and Tuesday.
Weather on Tuesday
More serious precipitation is expected on Tuesday. The reason for the worsening weather is a Mediterranean cyclone passing south of the country.
The weather in the country will be cloudy and in many places with rain. Around noon from the northwest the wind will intensify and we expect lower temperatures. As the temperatures drop in the afternoon in the Fore-Balkans and in the highlands of Western Bulgaria, the rain will turn into wet snow. More significant snowfalls are expected in the mountains and in Srednogorieto, where a white cover will form.
The minimum temperatures will be between 2 ° and 6 °, and the maximum in the country will be in a wide range from 5 ° -9 ° in the northwestern regions to 13 ° -14 ° in the south and southeast.
The wind in the southeastern regions will still be from the southwest, but with the passage of the cold front, thunderstorms will form and temperatures will drop.
Wednesday and Thursday will remain unchanged with light rainfall in southern and eastern Bulgaria and snow in mountainous areas. The northwest wind will continue to blow and the prevailing maximum temperatures will be between 4 ° and 8 °
Weather is expected to improve on Thursday. It is expected to be windy, with variable clouds, which will break in the afternoon. Light snowfall is possible only in some places, mainly in mountainous areas.
Improving the weather and warming is also expected in Friday. Around noon the clouds in the country will break to sunny. In the morning fogs will form in places in the plains and valleys. It will remain cold with minimum temperatures from minus 6 ° С to minus 1 ° С. The maximum will increase and will be between 8-13 ° С.
IN Saturday and on Sunday the clouds are expected to increase and in western and central Bulgaria new rains will start, and in the high fields and in the mountains – snow. The wind in Eastern Bulgaria will intensify and will be southwest. Maximum temperatures will be in a wide range – from 5 ° -10 ° in the northwestern and western regions to 14 ° -17 ° in Eastern and Southern Bulgaria.
A new weather situation with rain and snow is expected in Sunday. The wind from the northwest will intensify and colder air will blow with it. In Western Bulgaria and in the Fore-Balkans it will snow until the evening, and in the Upper Thracian lowlands and Eastern Bulgaria the precipitation will be from rain. Temperatures will drop and the maximum will be from 3-5 ° in the northwestern regions to 13-14 ° in southern and eastern Bulgaria.
