Bill Gates’s company is expected to provide details of the new operating system at a virtual event to be held on June 24. In May, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella told the Build 2021 technology conference that his employees are working on “one of the most important Windows updates of the last decade.” For his part, Microsoft’s corporate vice president, Yusuf Mehdi, said “I have not been so excited about a new version of Windows since the launch of Windows 95”. To date it cannot be said with certainty if it is a simple update Windows 10 or an entirely new operating system. However, some techies say that the event invitation contains an unusual clue, which is that the reflection of the Windows logo looks like the number 11: But what can you expect from this update? First, the new version of Windows could have a big visual change – new icons, menus and interface with rounded corners – as Windows seeks to make its system look more modern and more intuitive for the user. In particular, it is rumored that the Start menu will be located in the bottom center of the screen, while notifications will appear on the right. The system could also include an app store that will allow developers to add and monetize their own apps. Windows 11 is expected to refresh the pre-installed apps such as Settings, Clock, or Music. It is also possible to join the Mail and the Calendar. Windows 11 could also support a revamped touch keyboard that will integrate GIFs, emoticons, and stickers. As in Windows 10, users will be able to use different widgets and see on the screen all the relevant information related to their Microsoft account and its services. It should be remembered that since 2015, Microsoft has only released updates to Windows 10, although in October 2019 it became known that it was working on Windows 10X, an operating system for dual and folding screens. However, in May 2021, the company’s vice president of program and service management, John Cable, blogged that Windows 10X technology “should not be limited to a subset of customers,” so his company decided to integrate the technology into “other products” rather than bringing to market “a product called Windows 10X.”
