Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that he has no intention of severing ties with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin due to the situation in Ukraine, Turkish media reported, quoted by novini.bg.
We have a balanced policy in our relations with Russia and Ukraine. I have no intention of severing ties with either Putin or Zelenski, Erdogan said at a meeting with representatives of Turkish youth in Ankara, state television TRT-Haber reported.
The Turkish leader indicated that he intends to continue conducting telephone diplomacy with both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in connection with developments in Ukraine.
Erdogan reiterated that Ankara could not give up natural gas supplies from Russia.
