Is there life in space? 2 new planets discovered

The Max Planck Institute has published a new research paper by scientists at Georg August University and the Sonneberg Observatory. Researchers have revealed that there are 18 exoplanets that have not been discovered before by astronomers. It has been announced that 2 of the newly discovered planets have water and could hold clues about life in space.

Is there life in space? Scientists have discovered 2 new planets

What is intriguing about the 2 discovered planets is their resemblance to Europa, a rocky core. The other 2 planets are claimed to be closer to their stars than Europa and its planet. For this reason, scientists believe that the planets’ surfaces are most likely clouded between liquid water and vapor.

Scientists said they are ideal for searching the atmospheres of exoplanets in the system. To dig deeper, the researchers looked at system data captured by the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes. Because the planets were so close together, what astronomers call “transit time changes” occurred. It’s worth noting that the variations in transit times mean that the planet doesn’t appear at a time when its orbit would normally take it there.

Japan’s private space mission Hakuto-R has sent back new images of Earth. The vehicle, which was launched to the Moon, captured some very interesting stills.

The researchers pointed out that in this case, any data collected by observing the transit of planets in a system will not be synchronized at all. However, by examining data collected by the Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescopes after the discovery of the puddle planets, the researchers were able to establish a seven-year timeline. This allowed for more detail about the worlds found in Kepler.

Commenting on the topic, scientist Björn Benneke said: ‘We previously thought planets slightly larger than Earth were large spheres of metal and rock, like scaled-down versions of Earth, so we called them super-Earths. However, now “We have observed that these two planets, Kepler-138c ed, are quite different in nature. Much of their volume is probably made up of water. “We are observing for the first time planets that can be safely identified as aquatic worlds, a type of planet long theorized by astronomers”. made statements.
