is there a solar flare today…

A new strong solar flare of the highest class X was recorded by scientists from the Institute of Space Research and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The peak of its power occurred on October 24 at about 7 a.m. Moscow time. The flare was accompanied by a large ejection of solar mass, which moves towards our planet.

— A strong flare of the highest X level occurred this morning at the eastern edge of the Sun. According to X-ray flux measurements, the event score is X3.3. This is the eleventh most powerful event since the beginning of the 25th cycle, that is, approximately since 2018, the researchers said about the beginning of the record magnetic storm.

According to experts, geostorms will cover the Earth this weekend. It is not yet possible to predict the intensity of solar energy and potential risks, since the flare occurred on the shadow side of the giant star. Scientists will need time to collect and analyze the data obtained.

Magnetic solar activity influences the frequency and intensity of weather in space. In turn, on Earth this can be expressed in interruptions in the operation of power grids and navigation facilities. Airplane captains and astronauts are most exposed to radiation danger.

It has been established that human cells have a small electrical charge, and therefore can be affected by space weather. During geomagnetic storms, people’s blood thickens (to a lesser extent in healthy people). The number of heart attacks, strokes and other problems with the cardiovascular system and musculoskeletal system is growing.

Many people complain of increased or decreased blood pressure, migraines, insomnia and weakness. These are the days when it’s literally hard to get up from the couch, and the ground disappears from under your feet. We described in more detail what other symptoms occur in weather-dependent people in a separate article.

Each person is unique and individual, therefore the reaction to magnetic storms is different. Doctors recommend that weather-dependent people adjust their usual life schedule and postpone activities that require strength and concentration. It is worth maintaining an optimal balance in food, limiting salt intake and drinking more fluids.

During magnetic storms, you should avoid fried, smoked and spicy foods. Give preference to herbal teas, for example, with oregano, mint or chamomile. Therapists recommend taking prescribed pills on time and walking in the fresh air for at least 1 hour.

“To make it easier to endure an attack of weather dependence, it is important to maintain a sleep schedule, sleeping at least 8 hours at night. Warm foot baths, gymnastics, and contrast showers can also help. If you are worried about a headache, if possible, you need to take at least a short rest in silence or take a day off from work,” noted neurologist and medical expert Ekaterina Demyanovskaya.
