The avatar that Lensa ultimately creates for you is not protected. “For copyright protection, human input is needed for now,” says Depreeuw. “The author must be human.” The app can therefore not claim copyright for it.
The second question is a little more complex. We have previously explained how the app uses artwork for learning. “Technical copies are made of those works of art, which are in principle protected by the author’s ‘reproduction right’,” says Depreeuw. This means that only the author can make copies of his work.
