According to a survey on players’ relationship to the gaming world, a large proportion prefer their virtual self to their real-life personality.
Do you prefer your virtual self in the games to your own personality? Then you are not alone.
In the same vein, people used words like serious, creative and practical when they would describe themselves at their workplace. According to the survey, most gamers feel most like themselves when gaming (58 percent), followed by spending time with friends and family (52 percent) and when pursuing hobbies and other interests (46 percent).*
Only a quarter respond that they feel like themselves in the workplace.
In the same study, between 30-40 percent answered that they feel that gaming has developed them positively and feel that they have become more creative, stress-resistant and better at communicating.
*The survey was conducted with a total of 7010 participants in Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands and Sweden.
