Is the Metal Gear Solid producer preparing for a long-awaited announcement?

Perhaps the Metal Gear franchise will also get some attention years after Konami’s flop with Metal Gear Survive (which was their first post-Kojima game with the IP).

It is no coincidence that snooping around Konami’s house twice in one day, but this is how the last day of 2022 was born, presumably the latest news. THE Gematsu reported on the annual Japanese Famitsu tradition: The publication asks several Japanese developers what their goals are for the coming year and what keywords they would apply to them. Famitsu didn’t miss Konami either, which for the first time in years seems serious about being present again in the PC and console gaming industry, with the exception of the free-to-play eFootball converted from Pro Evolution Soccer.

Okamura Noriaki, the producer working for Konami in charge of the Metal Gear IP, said that in addition to Momotaro Dentetsu, the company will announce other games. The key word of him is “long-awaited”. Konami has already stressed in the past that it will be handling the Metal Gear, Castlevania, and Silent Hill IPs, but so far we haven’t heard anything official about the Metal Gear being left behind by Kojima. Still, there are rumors: a PlayStation 5-exclusive remake of Metal Gear Solid (which we heard was going to be announced at The Game Awards, but didn’t happen), an HD remaster of parts 2, 3, and 4, and we also have heard that the third part, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, may receive a remake.

The events are actually happening around Silent Hill (Silent Hill 2 Remake, Silent Hill Townfall, Silent Hill fe Silent Hill: Ascension, as well as Silent Hill: The Short Message not yet officially confirmed but already rated in South Korea and Taiwan), but we can only speculate about Metal Gear Solid. It’s almost time for Konami to finally announce what it’s going to do.

We have patience for it, so we can play it anyway.
