The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max offered users a titanium frame for the first time
It is produced in the same color combinations as the body of the phone
According to the first reviews, however, it is relatively prone to scratching
The new iPhone 15 was unveiled last week and is still one of the hottest topics in the tech world. In addition to a number of advantages, however, there are also some not so flattering reports that may have a negative impact on some users, especially when it comes to their choice of the next model. Rather surprisingly, one of the bigger changes to the Pro models is being debated, namely their titanium frame. It replaced stainless steel and, at least at first glance, it is a significant step forward.
How easily does the iPhone 15 Pro get scratched?
But the titanium frame also has one hidden drawback that Apple didn’t mention. If you choose a color variant other than the one reminiscent of natural titanium, the frame itself will also be displayed in this shade. However, it is not anodized, but only a PVD layer is applied to it to prevent scratches. However, as a user named Majin Bu boasted on the X social network, making a serious scratch in the frame is not such a problem. In this case, the natural color of the titanium will emerge, which is especially visible in the darker shades of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max.

Other technology journalists and YouTubers who have had the opportunity to spend more time with the new iPhones are also pointing out this possible problem. For example, a well-known YouTuber included a mention of scratching in his review Mrwhosethebossas well as MKBHD in his video, he recommends that you prefer the natural titanium shade when choosing a color variant of the iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max.
Apple already had to deal with the susceptibility to scratches in the case of the new MacBook Air, but in their case the body is made of aluminum, which is less sensitive to the creation of visible grooves and scratches. How big a problem it will be in practice is of course a question that only time will answer. A cover could solve the problem to a large extent, but many users like to use the phone without it, and in addition, practically no cover offers 100% protection.
