Is the internet and television from UPC ending? Vodafone refutes rumors

“We would like to inform you that we have recorded the spread of false reports in your locality about the end of the provision of UPC services due to the connection with Vodafone. This information is not true, “says the announcement that the operator sends to customers.

According to the News, similar messages were sent to customers in the Ústí nad Labem, South Bohemian and Central Bohemian regions, as well as in Prague. It is therefore clear that similar rumors are spreading throughout the country.

In some cases, such information is disseminated by the users themselves, who simply believe in this alarm message. That is, due to the merger of the old contract, UPC expires and people lose their Internet connection, or even television broadcasting.

Of course, none of this is true. After all, the UPC brand disappeared in the Czech Republic in April this year. Since then, people have had Vodafone logos on their accounts. So there is no reason why older contracts should be terminated six months after customers already use Vodafone’s services.

“Don’t fly to people who would like to earn on your trust. Vodafone has been here with you for 20 years. We assure you that thanks to the merger of UPC and Vodafone, we will continue to provide you with a full range of high-quality services, ”says the operator.

“Thanks to the connection of UPC with Vodafone, on the other hand, we can provide you with an even wider portfolio of services, from Vodafone TV through unlimited mobile tariffs to benefits when buying a mobile phone, laptop or various accessories. For example, thanks to the merger of UPC and Vodafone, we are now the only telecommunications company in the Czech Republic to offer the fastest gigabit Internet to more than 1.3 million households, ”concluded Vodafone representatives.

UPC absorption is one of the largest acquisitions in the entire history of Vodafone. Thanks to it, the youngest domestic operator will significantly strengthen its position on the Internet connection market. In addition to the Czech market, the entire business worth 18.4 billion euros (471 billion crowns) also includes Liberty Global’s activities in Germany, Hungary and Romania.
