“The nickname Satoshi Nakamoto was very involved in all discussions about the cryptocurrency at the beginning of Bitcoin,” explained Bart Preneel, professor of computer security and cryptography at KU Leuven, in De Wereld Today on Radio 1. Preneel was Sassaman’s supervisor as a Ph.D. a student “In 2011, Nakamoto suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth. That time roughly coincided with Sassaman’s death.”
