Rumors about “Prince of Persia” have been haunting the rumor mill for years. But a new game has not yet been announced. In the meantime, fans can have a little more hope. Because a fairly new Twitter account suggests that Ubisoft wants to do something with the brand.
The Twitter account named “Prince Of Persia” or “@princeofpersia” was set up in May this year. He has no followers and does not follow any other accounts. In addition, the said Twitter channel was made private.
Notes in email address
The mere existence of such an account with the name “Prince of Persia” is of course not a well-founded indication that something relevant is in progress at Ubisoft or that the publisher is responsible for the account. However, the password recovery option is fairly treacherous.
If you use it, Twitter points out two ways to restore the password. These include:
- Send a code to the phone number 95
- Send link by email to pr******************@u******.***
The fragments of the phone number can of course mean everything or nothing. The more or less anonymized email address that Ubisoft may assign is more meaningful. Because “u ******. ***” could stand for “ubisoft.com”.
The pattern fits: Ubisoft used a similar email address, for example, to register the Twitter account for “Rainbow Six Siege”. “Ra************@u******.***” was used.
This means at the same time: the first letters can be assigned to the game title in both cases. In the case of the new account, many fans may initially suspect “[email protected]”. But apparently this email address doesn’t exist, what you can check here. Also attempts with “Rewind”, “Dagger”, “Island”, “Dahaka” or “Social” did not lead to success.

Maybe a fake after all?
Even if the information at first glance seems quite clear: You shouldn’t be too happy at first. Despite the plausible evidence, the whole thing could have been a clever prank by a fan who, for example, used a similar email address – perhaps ubifake.org, to name an option at random.
On the subject
Still, it’s not uncommon for video game publishers to start creating social media accounts early on before launching a new game or part of an existing franchise. We have seen such events before, so that Prince of Persia could actually be revived in the near future.
And the timing is also suspicious: on July 12, 2020 finally Ubisoft Forward takes place.
