This is what we will see together.
Applicable regulations
According to a recent decree, the use of pyrotechnic articles and entertainment devices is prohibited until July 15 inclusive, throughout the national territory. This prohibition does not apply to authorized professionals or municipalities that organize fireworks for the National Day. In addition, administrative measures have been put in place at prefecture level, prohibiting the sale and use of fireworks of categories F2 to F4, T2, P1 and P2 by non-professionals.
What tricks are allowed?
So, what’s left for us simple fireworks enthusiasts? The only items that we have the right to use this July 14 are therefore category F1 fireworks, usable from the age of 12 and which present only a very low danger as well as a low noise level. They are intended for use in confined spaces, including fireworks that may be used inside apartment buildings. Concretely, this corresponds to cake fountains, snaps and other colored bengal fires that can be used in the house.
What if I do not respect these prohibitions?
If you do not respect these prohibitions, it can cost you dearly. Very expensive. A person who does not respect the principle of prohibition of sale, purchase, use of fireworks is subject to the provisions of article R610-5 of the penal code and may be subject to a fine provided for 2nd class fines of 150 euros. And in the event of a fire following the use of fireworks, there are penalties ranging from six months in prison to ten years and a fine of €150,000 if the fire has caused the death of one or more people.
