We can increasingly notice that 2021 is gaining momentum. More big and interesting news is appearing every day. Fortunately, it was also nice in recent days. And so this edition of the GK Journaal contains a number of nice, interesting and worth knowing news. For example, JJ will talk about a newly pending patent from Rockstar for possible GTA VI, the new project from Sony San Diego, STALKER 2 and Game Pass, Resident Evil Village and more. Time for the best news of the day. Let’s hit the play button.
Take-Two takes a new step for open-world games (GTA VI?)
One of the most important things in an open world game is the NPCs. In other words, the non-playable characters. In an open-world game, the world is supposed to feel alive, and NPCs play a big part in that. In general, many open-world games make a pretty good effort to simulate their world as vividly as possible. But significant steps can still be taken. And the closest studio to a real city right now is Rockstar. It seems they want to take it a step further in terms of vibrancy and realism with their NPCs. Take-Two has applied for a patent on behalf of Rockstar for a system that should provide a virtual world that is not limited by hardware and software. What are they going to use that for?
A new Uncharted?
Over the past few years, Sony has released many good quality first party games. And with Horizon Forbidden West and Thor Ragnarok, it doesn’t look like they’re going to stop doing this for the time being. Sony San Diego is also working on a game. That should be a game set in an already existing franchise. It has long been speculated that this is a new game in the Uncharted franchise. And a new lead seems to confirm this. JJ brings that and more in the GK Journaal today.
