Is OnePlus getting ready to put a smartphone on the market with 160W charging?

Oppo recently revealed its 150W fast charging technology which is expected to launch on a OnePlus device scheduled to launch in Q2 2022.

However, a OnePlus device with 160W fast charging capability has appeared on China’s 3C certification website. Will there be a machine with even faster charging to come?

OnePlus currently has its top smartphone charging at a maximum power of 90W, the OnePlus 10 Pro. This value is already higher than what the vast majority of machines are able to offer, although there are smartphones with the ability to charge with wires at powers greater than 120W.

Now comes an intriguing piece of information. After OPPO said that a OnePlus smartphone would be launched with 150W fast charging, a model appears on China's 3C certification website with 160 W charging.

First identified by MySmartPrice, the listing reveals that the device has the model number PGKM10 and is a 5G mobile device.

Until now, this PGKM10 model number was associated with the upcoming OnePlus tablet dubbed the OnePlus Pad. However, it does not seem very logical that the manufacturer would put a tablet on the market with such high fast charging capacity. Even more so because Oppo's new tablet comes with 33W fast charging.

So is OnePlus preparing a new smartphone with 160W charging?

The device may be a variant of the OnePlus 10 series. There is talk of a model with a SoC Dimensity 8100, 6.7-inch OLED screen and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 main camera. The other model that can come with this charging power could be the OnePlus 10 Ultra, but this one has specifications higher than those described.
