Documentary maker Sunny Bergman has contributed in her own, unique way to the racism discussion in the Netherlands. She thinks that Veronica Inside is a racist program, but she has a very special reason for this: they say that they have an app. And app sounds like monkey. So wrong!
The conscious Veronica Inside episode with Natascha Harlequin about racism continues to occupy the minds. Also that of the dire woke docu brewer Sunny Bergman.
Sunny has watched the YouTube video of the conversation between Harlequin and Derksen and found a new example of racism. According to her, the video ends with a very grievous remark to black people. Because after the lawyer closed her plea, singer Danny Vera came into the picture. Sunny saw one there example of flawless racism:
“Veronica Inside’s YouTube channel thought it would be a good idea to cut a fragment after this fragment with Natacha Harlequin in which someone shouts: ‘We have aaaaaaaap !!’ Postscript: He turns out to say ‘we have an app’, but because it sounds like a monkey nonetheless still inappropriate. ”
You read it correctly: it is forbidden to use the word ‘app’, because it is too much like monkey. And if there are any dark-skinned people around, they might take it as a swear word, even if it is clear from the context that such a paranoid reading makes no sense at all.
So we are very curious with what replacement word for the extremely offensive term ‘app’ the SJW language police will soon come up with. If you can of course still use the word prop. Because gag sounds like stop, and that is sometimes said by black people. So inappropriate!
