Is Lukashenka Considering Using “Wagnerites” as a Personal Guard?

The oppositionist does not rule out that Lukashenka can use the “Wagnerites” as a personal guard.

The Belarusian oppositionist, senior adviser to the Belarusian oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, Franak Vyachorka, explained why Lukashenka got involved in an adventure with shielding Prigozhin after an unsuccessful attempt at a riot.

Vyachorka said this in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

He recalled that now all Lukashenka’s power rests on Putin’s help.

“He will not leave Putin and will not go anywhere … He will pray that everything will be fine with Putin … Putin said to bring the “Prigozhinites” and “Wagnerites” to Belarus, Lukashenka obediently complied. Putin will tell Lukashenka to deal with Prigozhin, shoot… he will do it too. There will be no security guarantees from Lukashenka for Prigozhin,” the oppositionist is sure.

According to Vyachorka, Lukashenka is beneficial to the Kremlin, so Putin is definitely not going to get rid of the Belarusian dictator.

“It’s hard to imagine a more loyal ally for Putin. He costs nothing, but he provides Putin with control over Belarus,” says Tikhanovskaya’s adviser.

At the same time, he notes that Lukashenko himself does not trust the Belarusians and his own army. Therefore, the self-proclaimed president can use the “Wagnerites” as a personal guard.

“But he trusts the Russians, because they protect him when they are paid. Perhaps he hopes to make such a personal guard out of the Wagnerites. He hopes that they will create additional pressure on the Belarusian civil society. It is possible to fight the underground, the partisans. Perhaps will try.” make some provocations in neighboring Poland and Lithuania… Lukashenka hopes that this will be a tool for him. But I think that Prigozhin has slightly different plans,” Franak Vyachorka summed up.
