Teenage internet sensation JoJo Siwa is known for her bubbly and fun personality, and ever since she rose to fame on Dance moms in 2015, she became one of the country’s most influential young women.
It’s no secret that the 17-year-old – real name Joelle Joanie Siwa – has amassed a slew of social media since her skyrocketing to an A-List celebrity.
In fact, she has 10 million followers on Instagram, over 12 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, and over 31 million subscribers and 1.1 billion likes on TikTok.
On January 20, Siwa took to TikTok to post a video of herself lip-syncing with Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” and her video has fans and social media users all asking the same question. :
Is JoJo Siwa gay?
Here’s why fans think the YouTube star stepped out in a TikTok video series.
JoJo Siwa’s TikTok video of her singing on Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” has over 3 million likes.
In the clip, Siwa says the following lyrics from Gaga’s song:
“It doesn’t matter gay, straight or bi
Lesbian, transgender life
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born to survive
It doesn’t matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I’m on the right track, baby
I was born to be brave!
Fans immediately started to wonder what the intention of the video was, and some fans believe it was Siwa’s way of getting known.
“I’m so happy for you,” commented makeup guru and fellow social media star James Charles, while a fan wrote, “I hope that’s what we think it is. SO PROUD OF YOU.
More and more TikTok users echoed these sentiments, with many comments like, “Welcome to the JoJo family” and a plethora of his fans telling him “I love you!”
Siwa also appeared in a video featuring members of The Pride House, where she dances and lip-syncs to Paramore’s certified bop, “Ain’t It Fun.”
In the video, the TikTok stars say the words, “Ain’t that fun, ain’t it fun?” as JoJo synchronizes the lyrics on the lips, “Baby, now you’re one of us.” ”
Those final words sparked further speculation that this was how JoJo was dating.
“YES JOJO MWUAH SO PROUD OF U,” wrote one Twitter user, while another said, “I knew you could be trusted. “
JoJo’s brother Jayden has apparently confirmed that Siwa is out, writing in a comment, “So happy for you JoJo !!! I love you! “
While social media users quickly jumped on the ‘JoJo is out’ bandwagon, other TikTok users weren’t so sure this was how Siwa was promoting herself.
“Imagine if this is her way of backing and you all take it the wrong way,” wrote one fan, while another said, “Why is everyone assuming she is?” exit? What if sis only thrilled Lady Gaga.
And they make a great point – JoJo could very well show her support for the LGBTQ + community and let her millions of followers on her social media channels know that she stands up and supports the community.
JoJo Siwa went public with her boyfriend, Mark Bontempo, in August 2020.
After fan speculation for a while, JoJo Siwa went public with her relationship with Mark Bontempo in August 2020 after confirming their romance on an episode of her mother’s podcast, Successes with Jess.
“Do I have any secrets? Yes. In fact, the other day I was proud of my honesty with the world and my lack of secrets, ”she revealed at the time. “And then I was like, ‘Uh, what about some of my stuff?’ Some secrets… ”her mother asked:“ Your boyfriend? “
JoJo then said, “He’s amazing and I couldn’t have imagined anyone better. “
However, their relationship was short-lived and Siwa took to Instagram on November 15 to share that she and Bontempo had decided to quit after a few months of public meetings.

“… Mark doesn’t deserve hateful things like that.” He deserves people to support him. You have NO idea about the relationship between Mark and me. How much fun it was. How happy we were and how happy we both were. We decided that it was better for us not to be in a relationship… that’s it, ”she wrote.
“We are teenagers,” she added. “And our relationship hasn’t worked out yet. He did not do anything. I did not do anything. Better to be friends. Relax. “
So while it looks like JoJo Siwa is definitely single, there is no confirmation that his TikTok video was his way of getting his fans and the rest of the world known.
And although she retweeted a fan who posted her original TikTok video with the caption, “@itsjojosiwa is on the right track she was born that way [two hearts], “- everything is speculation until Siwa herself officially comments on the matter.
Going out doesn’t make you feel isolated or alone. There are supportive and safe spaces for those who are part of the LGBTQ + community, including Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, and resources available on the GLAAD website.
