The UK is one country that has recognized that e-cigarettes are a way to quit smoking. E-cigarette policy in the UK has been backed by strong scientific evidence that has been shown to offer enormous public health benefits.
Many studies reveal that e-cigarettes are one of the best alternative ways to quit smoking.
As one example, experts at Queen Mary University in London conducted a study, over a six month period, that 27 percent of the 137 smokers who had previously been unable to quit had reduced their cigarette intake by using e-cigarettes.
Furthermore, the experts found that people in the e-cigarette group also found it easier to quit smoking.
Lead researcher and Health Psychologist Dr Katie Myers Smith from Queen Mary University of London said the results had important clinical implications for smokers who had previously been unable to quit smoking using conventional treatments.
“E-cigarettes should be recommended to smokers who have previously struggled to quit using other methods, especially when available behavioral support is limited,” said Dr Myers Smith. The Sun.
