Water is essential for the life of our body and everyone recognizes the importance of good hydration. In Italy, about 224 liters of plastic water bottles are consumed each year. From this need also comes the question about the safety of the water we drink.
According to EU regulation (as a packaged product) it must have an expiry date, like any prepackaged food.
But is it dangerous to drink water that has expired? And what happens to the water when it expires?
The answer depends on several factors.

For example, buy water in plastic bottles kept in very hot environments, or store them at home near heat sources. In these cases, quality and purity issues may arise.

There are no studies that certify the fact that drinking water from a plastic bottle, even if it has expired, can have negative consequences on our health.
But it’s not always possible to be sure how the seller held the product. At this point, it is much more recommended to buy water in glass bottles.
It is true that it is much more inconvenient, but in this way we get rid of the doubt about how to preserve it.
