It is hard to believe the words of the Russian representative in the Nordic combined of Vyacheslav Barkov. After the World Cup race in Lahti, Finland, he commented not only on the sports world with his commentary on the war in Ukraine.
“How does it feel to compete with everything that’s going on in the world right now?” asked a Russian athlete journalist from Norwegian television after a 10 km cross-country race.
“And what’s going on in the world?” Barkov asked back. “War,” the reporter replied, waiting for Barkov’s comment. However, the Russian athlete continued, “Where?”
