While we’re still waiting for even the very first official GTA 6 announcement, here’san American media group seems to be curiously interested in Take-Two, the parent company of the starred firm. For this reason, Rockstar Games’ next installment could well bring this juggernaut millions of dollars middle… Good or bad news?!
GTA 6, soon in the hands of a company hated by the USA?
Attention, here, once again, we prefer to warn you that at the time of writing these lines, nothing has been formalized yet, and we must therefore take the statements that follow with a few tweezers, but what either way: it would indeed seem that Take-Two is about to conclude a deal with one of the giants of the industry, the American group Comcast, voted the most hated firm by Americans. But then, what is this group? Well, it’s a huge company specializing in everything related to media, and it owns several famous names such as the DreamWorks studio.
If the group had already approached other names like EA in 2022, with an unsuccessful deal, it seems more determined than ever to have a foothold in the video game industry since, according to a recent report of Bloomberg, Comcast would make eyes at none other than Take-Two today. At the time of writing these lines, we unfortunately do not have more information on this potential market, but as we already know, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, namely Strauss Zelnick, has already stated on several occasions that he values his independence. On the other hand, if the opportunity arose, he would nevertheless be open to potential offers.
It must be said that this way of acting is very very far from being uninterested because as you know, Take-Two holds what will be the next opus of Rockstar Games, GTA 6. And today, it is definitely one of the most anticipated games if not THE most anticipated game. Investing in Take-Two would therefore be the jackpot for the group.
A story that repeats itself, but what consequences for GTA 6?
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen one of the biggest media behemoths take a strong interest in a studio of this magnitude. For example, we have already had the Vivendi group which has invested several shares in Ubisoft, and today, the latter holds many names such as Gameloft, for example, but has on the other hand sold all its Ubisoft shares.
With this potential investment, what consequence/s for GTA 6? Well unfortunately at present, it is still much too early to imagine anything, whether positive or negative. We will therefore have to take our troubles patiently before knowing more and above all, before knowing whether or not the deal between the two firms will take place.
