Is Google Stadia Worth it? A Detailed Review of Connection, Game Availability, and Performance

It works well enough over a wired connection to play 4k at 60fps. I don’t see artifcats but I also have bad eyes for that kind of detail.

Wired it occasionally hiccups, say 400ms per 5 minutes and sometimes you get a warning that your connection is bad. Very rarely you are thrown out of the game because the connection is lost, but that is almost always my router because the internet no longer works.

It’s a drama over WiFi 2.4ghz.

The biggest disadvantage is that relatively few games are available. Ubisoft and Square Enix are well represented, EA and THQ Nordic also, but there is no Hogwarts Legacy. Neither does SE’s own FF14, almost only their Western offering.

In the Netherlands you have the most expensive subscription on a 4080 (contrary to what tweakers say, availability depends on your location) and that plays very well. A cyberpunk not only plays very smoothly, it also loads very quickly.

But first check whether the games you want are available. There is no real line to draw, the EA Star Wars Fallen Order, for example, but not the sequel. GoG has their own games, some do, some don’t and Gollum for example is playable via Steam but not via GoG.
