Is Ducati Monster’s Gasoline Consumption Wallet-Friendly? | Jakarta

Jakarta

One of the most friendly Ducati motorbikes for daily use is Monster. However, is this motorbike’s gasoline consumption also friendly to the wallet?

The new generation of Ducati Monster comes with compact dimensions like a 250 cc class motorbike. Don’t believe? Just look at Ducati’s claim that the weight of this motorbike is only 166 kg which incidentally is equivalent to the weight of the Honda CBR 250 RR.

In addition to its light weight, the total dimensions of this motorbike are also relatively compact with a seat height of only 820 mm. Of course, this stature makes Monster a friendly motorbike for daily use.

Especially since the engine is now liquid cooled or radiator, making it ready to be used in various conditions. This machine is also commonly used by Ducati, one of which is paired to the Hypermotard and SuperSport 950.

Please note, the engine carried by this Monster is a Testatretta with a 2-cylinder L configuration with a capacity of 937 cc. It is claimed that this engine produces 111 HP at 9,250 RPM and 93 Nm of torque at 6,500 RPM.

Now! After we tested it in the long term and with the full to full method, aka from full tank to full again, driving as far as 48 km requires 2.71 liters of gasoline.

This means that the fuel consumption of the Ducati Monster in our test this time is at 17.7 km per liter. These results are obtained with a combination route and an average speed of around 60 km per hour.

Although not comparable, it is interesting to compare the results of the gasoline consumption test for the Ducati Monster moge with the LCGC car, which incidentally is a ‘people’s car’ in Indonesia.

One sample car that we can use is the Toyota All New Agya type G. detikOto has done a complete test of this car and has also done a full to full test of fuel consumption.

We took this Toyota Agya type G for 100.1 km and passed 50% of toll roads to 50% of routes in the city. We also filled this car with 3 passengers to make it more natural in everyday conditions. In fact several times, we found traffic jams to idle for a while in the parking lot.

As a result, the Toyota Agya type G, which has traveled 100.1 km, only needs to be filled with 5.09 liters. This means that when brought with family or a car filled with 3 passengers and with a more dynamic driving character, the Agya type G is able to achieve an average fuel consumption rate of 19.6 km per liter.
