When was the last time you experienced a life change? In a sense, change is universal and inevitable. To be successful in a rapidly changing world, we must adapt our attitudes to the variables and the unknown and learn to see change as an opportunity rather than a threat.
Expand your peripheral vision
Today, most people are extremely focused on things front and center, the work to be done, the next thing to do, profit for the season, or just how to get through the day. Most of us don’t notice things on the edge or in the distance.
Peripheral vision isn’t just about new ideas or finding answers, but your peripheral vision shrinks when you’re anxious, whether you’re worried about work, grades, finances, relationships with friends or colleagues, unmet expectations, etc. Anything could happen. Your horizons of visible reality, comfort and creativity also shrink, hence the name “tunnel vision”.
Try this simple exercise
Expand your peripheral vision, open new and vast horizons, bring out solutions and reduce anxiety. But it doesn’t happen automatically, you have to develop this skill, practice using this superpower。Try this simple exercise:
Raise your hands directly in front of your face, put your thumbs over your ears, use your ears as an axis, open the rest of your fingers and go back until you can see them in your eyes. So move these fingers and move on until you can see the fingers on either side of your peripheral vision. This is yours.peripheral vision. Look closely, is there anything you haven’t noticed before and are seeing now?
You can alsoBlinking, turning the head left or right or in a circle, walking, reading or doing any kind of distractionthings, do this exercise.
Or you can do it in reverse. To existHanging upside down on a tree, standing with both hands, or simply bend over and touch your toes with your hands. Then from this new vantage point, look where you are. Does the same scenario seem different? Is there anything you don’t notice when you stand up?
Expanding your peripheral vision isn’t a panacea, but it can help you see more, see more clearly, and be less anxious. It’s a great place to start.
