We know that Steve Rogers is no ordinary person. He is not even an ordinary superhero. Exposure to the super soldier serum transformed Captain America into perhaps Marvel’s most powerful human being.
In the context of the House of Ideas of the Cinematic Universe (MCU), particularly in the Infinity Saga, there was a moment when Cap was tested on his strength: when he held the hand in which Thanos wore the glove of the infinity in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) ..
It was right around the time of the film’s epilogue when Sentinel of Liberty tried to stop the Mad Titan, who only needed the Vision Mind Stone to complete them, from breaking and annihilating half of their life in the universe.
Unfortunately, Cap’s attempt to buy Scarlet time to destroy her beloved Vision gem was in vain, but that moment when Rogers holds Thanos’s hand upset the Great Titan himself, a scene that sparked much debate: Is Captain America powerful enough to use Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet with all the gems?
Could Steve Rogers wear the gauntlet?
To address this concern, one of the writers of Avengers: Endgame, Christopher Markus, expressed his opinion on The Hollywood Reporter: “I think Steve would be finished.”
“I think at this point Thanos is impressed with how strong Steve is. He says : ” I can’t believe this guy, who apparently has no powers, is trying to do that‘.’ He explained.
Clearly Steve Rogers doesn’t have the strength of a being like Thanos not just to wear the glove but to wear it with all the Infinity Stones, but it would certainly be interesting to see how he tries to wear it and what scenarios they would be or why he should.
Avengers: Infinity War is one of the best MCU movies and is available on Disney +.
