Is “appointment shopping” coming to Bremen? Senate should decide today

  • Retailers could be allowed to reopen soon
  • Only for one customer with an appointment
  • It is not yet known when the regulation will apply

With the new regulation, individual customers should be able to go into business.

The Bremen Senate apparently wants to decide on Tuesday lunchtime that shops that are currently closed due to Corona will soon be able to receive customers again. However, only one person at a time.

Bremen’s mayor Andreas Bovenschulte (SPD) had already announced in the city council last week that retailers in Bremen could get prospects again.

The economic department has now made a proposal as to how the whole thing could look in concrete terms. Accordingly, it should amount to a kind of “shopping with registration”, often referred to as “appointment shopping”. When to start is still unclear – the economic authority does not give a date.

Waiting for the federal-state conference

It is also unclear whether the state government has already decided to relax the sport. First of all, group sports in the open air and sports for children and young people should be allowed again, according to the responsible department. The Senate had already debated this a week ago, but the senators will probably wait for the result of the federal-state talks on corona easing tomorrow, it said.
