A large majority (85 percent) of the participants agree with the statement that abolishing the net metering scheme for solar panels is an unfair measure.
The reason for this statement was the news that politicians want to phase out the net metering scheme for solar panels from 2025. In 2031, netting will no longer be possible. Households then have to pay full price for electricity they purchase from their energy company, while they receive a lower compensation for the electricity fed back from their panels.
‘First push people to buy solar panels, and now stop netting? Too crazy for words, promising a lot and giving little makes a madman live in joy’, responds a participant who agrees with the statement.
‘Apparently only large energy companies with a lot of profit are allowed to supply energy. The ordinary citizen should have absolutely no advantage,’ says another.
“Abolition has been on the agenda for a long time. However, there must be a good alternative so that you are encouraged to use or store more of your own electricity, for example. Batteries are currently not yet affordable. So you cannot yet save your excess generated power to use at a later time. I think many people would like this, because you automatically reduce your costs,’ says someone who disagrees with the statement.
