It therefore comes as no huge shock that the publishers of the film, Universal, have started looking for other Nintendo brands to make movies out of.
The latest rumor has it that the American film company has none other than The Legend of Zelda in its sights, and reportedly it is just before they sign a “big deal” with Nintendo.
The rumor comes through The Hot Mic Podcast, where the well-known and well-informed film critic Jeff Sneider was quite sure of his case. The case was first discussed by Eurogamer.
Sneider was able to say that it will reportedly cost Universal a handsome sum, especially now that Nintendo has seen what their brands can achieve on the cinema screen and “they know what they are worth”.
By all accounts, it will be a new collaboration with the Minions studio Illumination, who were also the ones behind the Super Mario movie. Of course, whether there is any truth to the rumors remains to be seen.
