Is a Free Trial Period Available on Disney+? Here’s What You Need to Know

Marvel, Star Wars, and of course a huge treasure trove of Disney classics – Disney+ has many series, documentaries and films that arouse desire. But to find out whether the offer is really the right one for you, a free trial period would be the ideal solution. But is that currently possible on Disney+? We looked and researched.

Disney+: Free test phase at the start

Enriched since March 2020 Disney+* the streaming landscape in Germany and attracts customers with its strong offering. But as a newcomer to streaming services, you first have to assert yourself. And as we all know, every beginning is difficult. The American company faced established competition from Amazon, Netflix and Apple TV+. In order to assert itself with its program of originals and licensed products, Disney+ initially offered interested users a seven-day free test. Try, look, convince: You could try out access to Disney classics, Star Wars worlds and the Marvel Cinematic Universe free of charge. You could then secure the first year of the Disney+ subscription for just under 70 euros.

But these options are now history. There are currently no options for free trial periods on the Disney+ homepage. The streaming service has also now dispensed with a replacement for the cheap subscription offer, which was only valid for the introductory phase and was part of the launch campaign.

Therefore, the subscription for one month and the price of 8.99 euros is unavoidable. At least you benefit from the one-month notice period, which you can take immediately if you don’t like the film and series portfolio.

Subscribe cleverly: Alternatively, save with a subscription

Apart from limited cooperation offers, which in the best case scenario allow you a test phase, Disney+ has a clear strategy: If you want to see content, you have to pay! The same view is held at Netflix, because the popular 7-day test is no longer available there. In contrast, Amazon, Paramount+ and Apple TV+ are sticking to the customer advantage and continue to provide free insight into their programming.

If you are one of those who decide quickly and can forego trying Disney+ for free, consider whether the annual subscription is an option for you. Compared to the monthly individual price of 8.99 euros, the annual subscription currently costs 89.90 euros. Admittedly, a perfect alternative to the free trial period looks different, but for clever savers this option pays off.

Don’t forget: If you want to take a break or can no longer find suitable content, cancel in good time. This way you avoid automatic subscription renewal.
