Irving’s contract expired in Brooklyn at the end of the season, thanks to which he earned $36 million. Now, however, he decided to apply for an immediate change and officially missed Saturday’s match with Washington due to an injury to his right wing.
In the Nets, Irving had a turbulent time. In the fall, the club suspended his activity for an anti-Semitic post on Twitter, and his ten-year career lost eight jobs. Because of the afe, the company Nike ended its cooperation with him.
Even so, with an average of 27.1 points out of 40 games played, Irving is the Nets’ second best scorer. He averages five assists and rebounds per game. Last year, he had to miss half of Brooklyn’s home games because he refused to wear a shackle against the coronavirus.
Irving is in his twelfth season in the NBA. In 2016, he won the title with Cleveland, thus playing for Boston. The 2011 draft pick also has gold from the Olympic Games and World Championships in his collection.
